Icons of British Modernism: Part II of the Seawolf Collection

Following the successful opening sale last autumn, Lempertz has announced a second part of the auction of important works from the renowned Seawolf Collection, to be held in spring 2026. This private collection of silver objects from the late 19th and early 20th centuries is the result of the shared passion of four collectors, who succeeded in bringing together key works of Modernism and the Arts and Crafts movement.

Among the represented artists are outstanding silversmiths such as Christopher Dresser, Charles Robert Ashbee and Omar Ramsden. The collection comprises exclusively objects in sterling silver. A remarkable feature, as many designs of the period were originally executed predominantly in silver plate.
The pieces gained international recognition through the exhibition A Personal Touch, which opened in 2003 at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and was subsequently shown, among other venues, at the Design Museum Gent, Koldinghus, the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Court Barn Museum.
